The Clay County Center for Women’s Ministries is proud to announce the successful use of a $10,000 grant from the Wabash Valley Community Foundation to strengthen its programs and increase its ability to serve women, teen girls, and families throughout the county.
Rather than funding a single project, this grant strategically built the Center’s capacity—allowing it to lay the groundwork for new programming, expand its reach, and enhance the quality of care provided to those seeking emotional and spiritual support.
Thanks to this funding:
Volunteer Counselors received specialized training in teen counseling for girls, preparing us to partner with Clay Community Schools to provide support.
Volunteer Counselors were trained in co-parenting education, using evidence-based materials from the University of Minnesota Extension Office.
The Center improved its meeting infrastructure with new furnishings and audio-visual aids to better support group interactions.
Professionally designed marketing materials and community outreach efforts helped raise awareness of the Center’s services and offerings.
“This grant allowed us to take meaningful steps that will have a lasting impact,” said Jill Wiram, Contact Person for the Clay County Center for Women’s Ministries. “We are now better prepared to meet the growing needs of our community with trained counselors, targeted programming, and a more welcoming space. We are deeply grateful to the Wabash Valley Community Foundation for making this possible.”
As a result of this investment, the Center is poised to launch new programs for teen girls, support women navigating co-parenting challenges, and serve more individuals in a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental environment
